When we went out to the farm to collect him, aged 6 weeks and 5 days (he was the first of his litter to leave Mum), we went in our rusty Ford Escort van (now a Ford Escort shed ), equippesd with a black binbag and a towel, in case he peed himself in fear. The farmer's son reached over a low dry-stone wall, heaved Kali out by the scruff of the neck, and plonked him in my hands, saying "Here's yours!". I can remember telling Mrs S that the money was in my wallet, in my back pocket. I didn't hear another word of the chat, because I was aware only of the two little blue eyes looking up at me. I couldn't see past them then, and still I can't. I think the eyes are a lot of what makes him so handsome! I tell him that he is a special dog, and that the "Dog God" gave him blue eyes so that everyone would know he was special, just like his brother Snorri-dog. Kali doesn't pay any attention, of course. As far as he is concerned, I'm just flapping my lips - he'd rather have an extra Bonio!

Snorri

P.S. - sorry I got in the puppy shot, kinda spoils the effect a bit!

Don't be silly, It's nice seeing you too

and your right about Kali's eyes, they are beautiful arn't they, my dog Takoda has one blue eye and I love his eyes too...so if that makes him half as good lookin as Kali then I'm happy

Let me know when you need someone to carry your white stick!

I think Kali's eyes make him look far more intelligent than he is! Despite the much-vaunted intelligence of the Border Collie, he can give a pair of short planks a run for their money - in particular, he never looks where he's going, and, when asked to move out of the way, he reverses carefully in exactly the direction we are wanting to go, without attempting to step aside!

Point at a bit of dropped food, and he'll look at you as if to say "Yes, I see your hand!" - in the meantimate, Snorri has nipped in and stolen the titbit!

Also, he can stare over the garden wall, right at a cat, and not see it. Snorri-dog, however, never misses a trick!

Snorri
