Dog heat pads... anyone got one?

This thing here http://www.doggy-demands.co.uk/accessories/heatpad.htm

anyone got? worth buying? It brags it stays warm for 12 hours. I guess a jumper around a water bottle would be ok but, if those are too hot they burn skin and they dont last for more than a few hours, and if they get punctured by teeth...

Had one for our elderly Chi and she loved it. We use it now when we winter camp instead of a hot water bottle to warm sleeping bags up. Very safe and warm would recommend them.

I bought a heat pad off ebay when I had my last litter, didn't use it much as it was when we had those couple of weeks really hot wether in summer so didn't even put it on during the night.

We,ve got this exact one and it is to hot to hold when taken out of the microwave. We use it when we have pups but to keep the litter warm in between pups and we keep it well covered as it would burn if it came into contact with a pup for any lengh of time. We don,t use it for our older dogs as they would probably chew it and it does have to be well covered as it is so hot . Hope this helps you a bit

I also have a pet heat mat which plugs straight in to the mains which works much the same as a human elaectric blanket. You can ajust the heat to your prefered setting and I found this alot easier thanthe heated pad.

Ours has never got too hot to hold we just heat it as much as we want (just a few seconds does the trick) I'd worry more about an electrically powered one (our old lady was very leaky !)

Thanks for the offer Anne, I do have 3 already, so hopefully enough, but I'll keep you in mind just in case I need another later.
