Dog Life Jackets?

Hi Holiday booked - on a boat!

We now want to fit the dogs with life jackets for our piece of mind. They seem to vary enormously from as little as £8.00 from China up to £80.00 mark. As this is the first time we will be taking these dogs on a boat we obviously don't want to spend any more than we have to. However, I do wonder if the cheap Chinese imports on eBay are a waste of money or a huge bargain? The cynique in me wonders if after all most of the jackets available are probably made in China anyway and the extra is for the brand name sewn on to it!.

Anyone got any experience or advice?

I quite like the look and reviews of Henry & Clemmie but they are an American brand so p&p boosts the cost quite a bit.

We have outward hound here, my old dog had hydro, turned up with our own life jacket...the staff said they were better than the ones they had and before we packed hydro in they had purchased outward hound ones!

I bought mine from zooplus and it helped my little dog no end. It wasnt expensive but it gave him the lift he needed to stop him sinking ( he rear legs never worked in water!)

My sister has a Canadian canoe and takes her Border Terrier out on it. They bought a wee life jacket for her. I will ask where she got it.

If I were you, I would probably avoid a cheap imitation from China and spend a little extra on the real mccoy, for peace of mind.

Good choice on the Outward Hound! Bud's had his for almost 3 years, and as soon as he sees it in my hands, he's all excited, 'cause he know we're goin' boatin'! lol!
