When Can A Male Puppy "Do His Thang"?

I'm hoping you know what I mean?!

Basically Isla has come into season this last week, good timing really as Rossi is definitely too young to have a go and I'm hoping Oscar is too. I caught her standing for him tonight when I got in and thankfully he doesn't appear to have a clue. But it got me wondering, from what age can a male puppy father a litter? I've always assumed it was 6 months, but would be interested to hear any opinions.....

And don't worry, we ain't having "English Vizsla" puppies, I think I'd get lynched from both breed parties tbh!

I do know of someone who had a litter of English Setters sired by a 5 month old puppy that she was looking after for someone

Not sure if thats a one off or perfectly normal, I know my boys have always been keen on girls from an early age and seemed to have an instinct for what was required of a stud dog

Blimey that is young!

I'll definitely be keeping a close eye on them both, roll on January when I can get Isla spayed. I can't be doing with this whole "season" thing!

Is Oscar 5 months? I wouldn't put it past him at that age...he probably wouldn't have a clue what he was doing, but I wouldn't risk it! stranger things have happened.

He's 20 weeks I think, so yeah I guess 5 months. And like I said, we ain't having "English Vizsla" puppies, so no need to worry.
