Joanna Lumley ' Land of Northern Lights'

Did anyone watch the above? I was away at the weekend and caught a small portion of it. She went on a ride with the Huskies

It was a brilliant programme but you didn't get to see a great deal of the dogs.

Now you all know how ignorant I am of breeds but they didn't look the typical husky to me.
Can someone explain please?

I love her ! I think she is the best. I saw the programme she did go on a ride with the Huskies among other things, and she stayed at the ice hotel, and was lucky enough to see the Northern Lights as well, they were something else, its hard to even describe them, my mum was watching the show in her house, and shes blind, and phoned me afterwards to ask me to describe them, it was hard to do them justice, wonderful programme.

I know what you mean about the Huskies I thought that they didn't look typical, but the guy in charge of them said they were HUskies, one of them looked a bit like a Collie to me, and when they stopped running one of them was shivering !I hope he hadn't just rounded up some stray dogs !

Oh this was just brilliant!!! I'm not surprised she cried when they appeared either, coz I think I would have done! Nothing amazes me more than the wonders of nature, and these of course ARE one of the Wonders of the World (I think, but don't quote me on it!). What I wouldn't give to see them, but I wouldn't fancy that journey much, I'd have to hop on a plane! Dave didn't know what they were, and he said they were computer generated, but never on your life, they were for real!

Found it on i player!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00dhv1n/b00dhtx0/

I didn't see it but I heard about it from one of my old ladies who said how lovely it was, but how come JL had full make-up on the whole time and when she stayed in the ice hotel where do you go to the loo!
They are nothing if not practical my oldies!

I have flown through the northern lights but would love to go dog sledding.
