Norway Photos

What an amazing country. Expensive yes, but just so beautiful (as long as you like water!).

The middle house with the boat in the boat house is way we stayed.

The view from the house

some of my family out on the water

Views around Flekkefjord

And the island of Hidre

spot the goats!

Thanks Lynn - it really was lovely. You'll have to get Ben a passport - I can just see him sitting in the front of a wee boat zooming round the fjords

I wouldn't have thought of going either, but my Mum really wanted to go and we all decided to go with her. My great grandfather was from the village where we stayed - Flekkefjord - and we met some relatives. I have to say (in my opinion) it beats most of southern europe hands down - I know they get the sunshine, but northern europe is far more beautiful.

It was very clean - the whiteness of the buildings I think makes it look even more so.

Me too Sheree - I knew it was a beautiful country but wouldn't have gone if it hadn't of been for my Mum wanting to see where her grandfather came from. The whole 2 hour drive from the airport to the village, I don't think we went more than half a mile without seeing a beautiful stretch of water!

What a beautiful place. And I agree, so very clean! My friend goes to Sweden every year and says how great it is. Looks very similar.

Photos look lovely, i have never been myself but i have family there, they were shipping tycoons the Borthens, my cousin Per is a well known jazz musician in Norway. They live in Notteray, their house is right on the fjord. My parents have been and say its beautiful but mega expensive although i will wrangle an invite one day !
