Another tip that i use is to smear vaseline around the outside of pot,also works against vine weavil as long foliage is kept away from walls or any other means of crossing over.

yes I've done that on my herb pot - just have to be careful if I pick it up it doesn't slide from my hands

As predicted - Tilly keeps stealing the eggshells & eating them. I had to block the garden off after catching her for the 4th time!!
