I don't like net curtains. I personally think they are old fashioned.
We used to have the same problem in our old house, so we used bamboo blinds, they still let the light but people can't see in when they walk past. They are really cheap to buy, I just bought a small one for my upstairs bathroom and it only cost £3.99 from Wilkinson.

I love my net curtains, if I didn't have them then I would have to pull the curtains across slightly to make the house look lived in from outside, then it blocks out the light.

Not only that, our landing window is the same level as the flats further down the road, so they can see straight in, and if OH comes out of the bathroom in the state of undress like he does, they are going to get a nasty shock.....lol. We would probably get done for indecent exposure

I also think nets are old fashioned.
2 of my front windows (the large ones) have vertical blinds, my bedroom has a bamboo blind - as it lets the light in, and my small kitchen window at the front has voile (sp)

We had verticle blinds on the front and back of the house, but I love fresh air and my big windows are always open, the blinds banging about in the wind used to drive me mad.

When we were broken in to, the police told us to put net curtains up as it makes it harder for the thieving ***** to see in.

We have vertical blinds and I love them because you can have them so that they are open but people can't see in and you can get some nice colours in them now too
