I agree! my dog can tell the difference between my tone of voice. he knows when he's in trouble and when to be playful

I talk to my dogs all the time. I talk to the hamster and birds too. Must admit I don't say a lot to the fish though!

We do have the finger wagging too - it's known as the "finger of doom". The dogs know they've been naughty of they get the finger of doom and whichever one gets it, the other two disappear quicksmart!

Of course!! Doesn't everyone?

I particularly sing to my daughter's chihuahua, Gucci. It's called The Little Man song, and it goes like this:

"Little Man! Little Man!
Sitting in a frying pan.
When I turned the heat full on ...
Little Man, he burned his bum"

Chorus

"Little Man! Little Man!
Little Man! Little Ma-a-a-n!!

All the while, Gucci is snuggled into my neck. I do love that dog

We talk " with" Poppy our Staffie,we say something and she makes a noise in her throat as if answering...
Poppy loves us whispering in her ear sweet nothings like who's mummy's bubba then...and she snuggles closer...
Dad says, give us a kiss and she will...
We can see that Poppy understands us,by her doing all she doe's to please us when we ask anything of her...
She understands all we say...We think !!
She is adorable...
