I can't imagine not talking to my dog, I've always done it.
I can say whatever I want and she still thinks I'm great

I usedto talk to Jeager constantly. I would explain what i was doing.."Just getting the washing out." "Just going upstairs" " Just get the washing in" Everything really.
If he was close to me, i would say "Excuse me please" He would just move to the side, or back, and i would say "Thank you jeager."
Then when i was in the shower, i would sing a song, (not very well) and change the words, to put his name in place of something. In the end, i would just sing something, made up, all about him!! He would often be asleep on the landing, when i came out!! lol
Lovely company, and never moaned Once!!!
The only way, to spend a day.

Agree with MM too - he was the only one who'd listen! And tentatively too, awwwww
Yes, it's certainly a very special dialect for dog speak isn't it Azz, I do the same, and when Dave's family came round one Christmas, they were in hysterics when they heard me talking to Zena, but to me it was quite *normal* around here

Dave often has to walk into a room and ask me whether I'm talking to him or the dog, and I usually say, "the dog" All of my dogs have understood every word I say - honest!!!

Of course I talk to Pereg - only strange people do not talk to their dogs! Mind you she is a very clever girl as she tri-lingual - English, Ivrit and Caninese!

The funniest though is whenever Effie comes to do/sort out something on my computer as she sits and watches him and chats away to him, and of course Effie chats back to her!

Of course you do all realise that I am actually a dog myself...

I talk to my dogs all the time but not in baby talk, I talk to them like adults cos they are I just talk to them in a normal voice and Iain thinks I'm talking to him half the time. Personally I get more sense out of the dogs than him

You do realise that if I told you I would have to kill you, then I would be locked up and Dogsey will have lost two of its members...
