I didnt know about ears but according the breeder i got Millie off of its been illigal to dock tails for about 3 unless the dog is a working breed I guess thats why the working cockers have become really popular in recent years.

That is a very strange looking pup, with those tiny ears, reminds me of a wombat. Would be interested to see what it looks like as an adult.

I would have thought if the ears were cropped they wouldn't have hair growing around the rim.

I often used to get asked where my black bearcoat's ears were. You couldn't see them in her fur.

The pup in question might have been born with a deformity? Sometimes rabbits are born with little stubby ears so I can't see why a dog couldn't theoretically be. The pup looks like it's ears haven't grown since it was about 2 weeks old or dad was a shar-pei and that's all that was inherited. They don't really look cropped but it's hard to tell 100% from the photo. The pup is only young judging from the photos and looks, as mentioned, about 4-6 of age. Maybe they will catch up?
