What a bloody joke, getting you all wound up, only to leave you in the dark.

Disgraceful IMO.

Oh my goodness!!!

Helena, you really are going to have to lodge an official complaint because this is ridiculous. For heavens sake get yourself back to A&E if things get any worse and stick it out because you really do need to get yourself sorted out.

Don't really know what else to say. A catalogue of errors right from the start

What a nightmare and bloody disgraceful.

My dad was in hospital the Christmas before last and they forgot about him! He was there for 3 weeks, with my mum shouting about getting the test results. My mum did a bloody good job at constantly asking them when things were moving. If it weren't for her, he woukd probably be still there.

It's even more disgraceful tha you paid for the MRI scan and nothing can be confirmed until next week!

Helen

Ps, how is Dave now?

And to think if you'd gone to a canine specialist you would have the answer before you left the building

I reckon you should ask for an explanation when you feel up to it - be sure to build up your strength for Monday and take it easy in the meantime.

This is just a farce really isn't it, and at some point in the (hopefully not too distant) future you will laugh yourself silly at the whole thing, but for now it is just all too worrying.

You are so right about these things always happening at the weekend, but at least with our animals we can always get to see or speak to the vet, even if it does cost the earth. It seems that for you every avenue of enquiry is closed until Monday and I find that absolutely appalling.........how difficult is it for someone to just give you a call to put your mind at rest??

I think that my blood pressure is rapidly rising.

Hey ho old bean - surround yourself with magazines, choccies, marmite on toast etc. etc. and watch loads of utter rubbish on the telly. Keep the phone by you, and make the most of it because once you are better it will be back to the grindstone.

I would send you a pm but expect that your inbox is stuffed full

Only now read through this whole thread. I'm quite astounded and don't really know what to say. I find it funny though that no matter how busy they are vets always seem to find the time to see our animals and results are given quickly, whereas for ourselves we are left hanging on as everyone disappears for the weekend.

I can only imagine how worried you must be. Hope you have a quiet peaceful weekend and hopefully not worry too much, although how you are supposed to not worry, I just don't know.

Catching up now Helena - I do hope you get some answers over the weekend!

My elderly mother fell in the street a couple on months ago and banged her forehead - a passing couple walked her home and I wasted no time, called 999 and asked for the Paramedics to come out, which they did, they were there within 10 mins!

They gave her a full check and told me to stay up with her to watch out for signs of concussion, (call them immediately if any) and to see her GP the next day just for a check.

Luckily no real harm done just a lump the size of a golf ball on her head... and over the next week, the blood from that drained down filling her eye socket to give her the worst black eye I have ever seen!

Head injuries are not to be taken lightly, I just wish your health providers were as efficient as my mum's were.

best wishes and hopes it is all good xxxx

Yes, I should have known shouldn't I Lynn, coz I don't have anyone to fight my case like mum did, I have to do it myself, Dave doesn't do complaining, not in his nature.

Sounds like a good idea to me Natalie, when he's finished work today, he's walked Zena, I've hoovered, so that's it for me until Monday.

That's my take on it too!

Chris, I just can't do it, I'll get more stressed out and angry sitting down there for another 3 or 4 hours my bp will soar, I don't want to put myself through it. Afterall, the doc who saw me yesterday, did a thorough check over, looked into my eyes with that bright light again, and he's an actual surgeon this doc, so if anyone's going to know I have a big problem, then it's him. The fact that he didn't follow it up, makes me think he was erring on the side of caution rather than urgency (I hope!).

That's more than disgraceful, thank God he had somebody like your mum to get things done, I know all about that, I had it with my own mum in and out of hospital. Dave's still the same, constantly taking headache pills, vision blurred now and again, but he said he's just getting old. This has made us rethink our priorities, life's too short to worry about paying the bills at work, we'll be giving it all up soon I'm sure.

Thanks angelmist, I'm hoping for the same, but still don't fell normal.

Thanks twix I will be taking it easy, I just don't feel safe atm. Roll on Monday! I'll be in fighting mood by then!!

I know old Bean, it's just not cricket is it lol! I'm trying to do the c-a-l-m thing, trying to accept Dave's explaination that they would never have let me out of that hospital if there was a real problem....but then again, what if he had faxed it over and it never got there, I just don't trust my surgery anymore, they've made BIG mistakes with me in the past with my heart problem, telling me to take some Gaviscon when I had a 90% blocked heart artery!!! I'll probably end up having that same epitaph on my gravestone that what's 'is name had "I told you I was ill"!!! Lol!

I'm trying my best not to, thanks Trisha.

Sorry to hear about your mum, but that's comforting to hear that for me, because I feel as if this lump is "spreading" down the side of my head now, which could mean, the bad bruising is coming out. I've bashed my head many a time, especially falling off that horse, one time being dragged with my head bouncing off the floor lol! I've had big eggs on my head, but nothing like this, it's a long valley, all squidgy with a ridge either side, and even the doc said it was a strange one! Thanks Sue, can only sit and wait now.

Feeling weird still this morning and my head hurts like hell, but a big bruise would wouldn't it. I wonder if a bit of ice might help it out? Can you put ice on your head I wonder? I might hae to Google!

Thanks all, I'm not walking Zena, Dave's taken over for me, I'm just pottering about like a 90 year old would do and taking it easy. I even feel 90, and sadly, I'm beginning to look it too!!!

Oh Helena, I am following this and wondering what is going on with these people, it's like nothing is joined up, no co-ordination, it's no wonder the NHS is such a mess.

Personally, if it was me I would try to ignore that remark by the technician, he might well have been refering to some technical aspect of the scan, maybe he hadn't worked that machine very often, something that he doesn't understand does NOT mean there's anything wrong with you. Well I suppose there is a remote possibility but it's the doctors job to examine the results and interpret them and to inform you.

What's annoying is that it seems there are no doctors able to do that until Monday, crazy isn't it
