Dog Related Abbreviations

Hi, as I'm fairly new to this site- this may be something u have already done and i haven't found. so sorry if I'm being an idiot Reading some of the posts can be confusing because a lot of the people use abbreviations for breeds e.t.c. I have figured out what most of the abbreviations stand for but it would be helpful to have a page detailing the abbreviation for each breed e.g. BC= border collie, STB= Staffie. It would help newbies like me figure out what kind of dog the posts are referring to. Thanks

Sounds like a good idea Dogless. Maybe we can all add some to this thread and perhaps one of our Mentors will compile an alphabetical list for us when it's done

Great idea, I was just reading another thread and saw NSDTR mentioned, and I have been trying hard to work it out but haven't yet.

Ok the two abbreviations I commonly use are:

Mal - Alaskan Malamute
Aussie - Australian Shepherd

Here's a few and those from above:

SBT = Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Staff = same as above
Staffie = same as above

BT = Bull terrier

GSD = German Sheperd Dog

NSDTR = Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever

Mal - Alaskan Malamute

Aussie - Australian Shepherd

ckcs = cavalier king charles spaniel

EBT English bull terrier
RR rhodesian Ridgeback
NI northern Inuit
UTE utonagon
GSp German Shorthaired Pointer
