Dressed or undressed?

Do you leave your dogs' collars on in the house? I always take them off - I suppose I worry they might get uncomfortable - but a few times lately delivery people have not closed the gate properly, and I'm beginning to wonder if I should leave the collars on. (Actually the only one who's ever got out of the garden is Bogie and he is very predictable - several years ago he saw a cat in a neighbour's garden, so that's where he heads in case it is still there.)

I've seen online some very glamorous house collars - they look softer, are they likely to be more comfortable for the dog?

Like me then. I should have said, another reason I don't leave them on is because of play fighting - don't want them strangling each other.

No. Never. In fact I don't remove her lead - I just unsnap her collar and it is left attached to the lead.

I can't imagine a dog is more comfy with a collar round its neck than without one and can't see any reason for a dog to wear a collar inside the house.

My dogs` collars come off when we get in. Having GSD`s you want their lovely ruff to remain undamaged.
The other reason being that when getting ready for a walk one day, one dog playfully grabbed another round the neck - and got his teeth stuck in her collar. Luckily I was right there to yank the collar off but I dread to think what would have happened if I hadn`t been.

Mine don't wear collars in the house either.

When they go to their dog sitters (she keeps them on at all times) they all wear break away collars.

Mine are always 'naked' at home too , read somewhere once about a collar catching in a door handle when someone was out and have always taken them off since.

Duncan never wears a collar in or out of the house but Mollie keeps hers on both in and out.
