Heeheehee sorry, front page news here...the Supreme Court ruled in favor of same sex marriage. The GOP will be so blinded by rainbows they'll crash the clown bus...

Sweet and close to home, a bunch of friends, a child and a particularly close family member...her story, she lived through the period when "being that way" could land you in jail or a mental hospital, the riots of the 60's and 70's when the protests for equality began, the AIDS crisis and politicians trying to pull us back to the dark ages, things becoming enlightened enough for couples to have children openly, and then TODAY.

She came out when she was widowed in mid-life. Now at ninety-five she has been with her partner for many years. Not something we've ever directly discussed but I know this must be a special day of wonderment for her. I'm so happy for everyone!

Great news!!

I was happy when I saw this, too. There's nothing "sad" about it. Discrimination isn't a good thing, no matter what REASONS a person might put behind it. Equality is important and I've never been able to see how people can justify treating others differently because of their sexual orientation. The GOP is comprised of mostly Christians, so I personally am glad this is a big L for them.

Sickening how people who are supposed to love everyone as their brother can judge and discriminate. It's about time people stopped using personal reasons such as religious bias, random homophobia, or other absurd reasons to interfere with the constitution and people's personal right to be treated equally. Grand win for America, and about time.

It's hard to believe where people stand sometimes. I mean who you love is personal not political. I posted that on a writer's site last night and one response was so ugly and ridiculous I told the moderator to lock the thread.

I think its a lovely thing.
