I have never allowed my dogs on the furniture, simply because we have clients coming to our home and its not nice them leaving with a fur coat, but when we built our conservatory a few years ago this became what we call the dog room , and as it happens the older dogs very rarely get on the furniture (mostly when I leave the room), but these two pups we have at the moment seem to take it for granted they can just climb up on the sofa whenever they like no matter how many times I get them off as soon as my back is turned, they are up again, I will continue working on the little sods, because having 4 malamutes in one room amounts to a lot of hair being left on the sofa.

Ours go on the sofa, on the chairs and on the beds But in our defence, we have trained them to get off the sofa, chairs and beds when we tell them to

All our dogs are allowed on the furniture, they also have their own chairs in the kitchen They are part of the family so I see no reason why they should not be on the furniture

I treat them a equals to us, so I voted yes. Blackie can go anywhere he wants, except when it is 3am in the morning in he is in MY PLACE!

Yep, Archie's always allowed on the furniture... in fact he seems to think humans exist only to give him cuddles so he'll always jump up on your lap for cuddles... Who could say no to him?
