Dogs delivered

It seems normal in the states and other large countries for people to buy pups and have them delivered with out ever seeing them or the mother .

Seems strange to me ,what do people think ?

It is? I've heard of a handful of people doing this with really good breeders, often breeders they've gotten a dog from before, but those have been few and far between. Most people I know either got them from a nearish breeder who they visited multiple times, got them from a pet store or BYB (ick), or got them from a rescue/shelter.
