Got an update on this little guy, now called Sanger, and he's doing great! He's grown into a gorgeous dog and is well mannered and his family just loves him.

Obviously it will be a little tougher.. if he was only deaf or only blind he can use the other sense to compensate, but dogs have much more advanced sense of smell than humans!

The only issue I can think of is how to avoid startling him to get his attention, and obviously he'd need to kept on a lead if taken for walks and maybe teach him to come close if someone tugs on the lead gently when something dangerous maybe in front of him (broken glass, an hole).

I've heard of a dog guiding another dog that was blind before several times, maybe if he was placed with an older dog who could potentially learn that?
