Harassment

Can anyone help?
What counts as harassment via e-mail/txt from someone?

I would say when you are receiving them on a regular basis even when you have told the person not to do it. Don't think it matters what the content is, if it is bothering you and you have told the person this, then in my view it is harassment.

Your post is a bit 'cryptic'. Depends in what 'context' you mean?

Are you talking about 'harrassment' from other forum members on here? Or just about harrassment in your email inbox from someone?

You can BLOCK emails.

I would say the same.

Although for the police to get involved I think you have to be (or feel you are) in danger. I'm not sure tho so worth looking through the link Murf posted.

It would have to be VERY serious for any police involvement.

But all the phone companies have departments that will hopefully take any issues seriously when you bring it to their attention ...
For number blocking and such ...

Not necessarily, they might go round and just have a word with said person. All depends on how it is effecting the person receiving these txts/emails I guess and how often they are being sent.

Have a read of this

http://www.harassment-law.co.uk/law/act.htm

Generally accepted that 'harrassment' is quite hard to prove.

OP hasn't given enough detail to advise sensibly. Texts could just not be read - or the number blocked. Ditto emails.

Physical or actual harrassment is a different thing. I successfully got someone prosecuted some years ago for harrassing my teenage daughter. Texts and emails were not involved. Handwritten letters were.

It's my ex.
He keeps texting/emailing even though I have said leave me alone.
They are NASTY things in the messages. I am not replying to any of them, yet he still sends me then, telling me to leave him alone!

You cant block txts, and it's hard not to 'read' them when they show up on the homescreen of my phone whenever I get one.
I have made it so his emails go straight to deleted box.
I can't phone o2 until tomorrow as they are closed, but apparently they won't block his number anyway, so I will have to change mine.
My phone is switched off now as I am so distressed.
