Yep this is so true! I definitely have 2 "French Poodles" according to most of the general public!

Mind you I thought the lady I was speaking to yesterday had a Golden Retriever and it wasn't! Very embarassing for me as the other dog she had was a Standard Poodle and we chatted for a while and admired each other's dogs. I said to was nice to see a proper Poodle and not a "Pooador" and she said "My other dog is a Labradoodle"!

Eek! Wanted ground to swallow me up moment!

She then said "But it looks like a Golden Retriever and moults heavily" so at least she thought it looked like one too!

Don't you think yours looks like a Golden Retriever then?

Now that's just pathetic lol.
When Luke was nine weeks old, people thought he was a six month old lab. By 5 months, they knew he couldn't possibly be a lab lol. I have been asked if he was purebred because his ears aren't cropped..and because he's black..but haven't heard him being called any other breed since he was a baby. Now ask me if I'm sick and tired of hearing that he's a "Horse" and if I have a "saddle".
