I think there are far too many who see it as a chance to make money This isn't helped by many breeds commanding such high prices like the Bulldog mentioned in the previous thread.

I'd like laws to be made that limit who can actually breed dogs as there are far too many being bred for the wrong reasons and not enough thought beforehand.

I want to see some sort of criteria that people should meet before being able to breed them for example understanding genetics, how to improve the breed, preventing hereditary conditions etc.

Don't just allow any Tom, Dick or Harry breed as when they feel like it - this results in poorly bred, ill-tempered animals that do a great disservice to the breeds they supposedly stand for. It happens such a lot, especially when a certain breed tops the popularity stakes.
