I use a 'Hoover huricanne' upright which sucks up hair which Vegas kindly deposits everywhere! Its quite a powerful vacuum cleaner (1600w) which alarmingly draws the carpet up also and literally leaves stripes in the carpet...

ps.I avoided Dyson cause all of my friends have had problems with theirs and i also didnt want a vacuum cleaner which looks like it was made out of Lego!

I have Dyson Animal, but not the upright one, because I can't lift
It's great, and purple!`

I have an old dyson and wouldn't part with it at all, it's amazing how much they pick up.

You should try the new Airider! A hover vacuum!

Don't know how you'd get it up the stairs mind! Would buy one just for the novelty value though!

Dyson Animal here too, but we've got laminate and stone tiles everywhere downstairs now so prefer to use a sweeping brush and dustpan. Carpets upstairs so I can use it up there, but dogs aren't allowed upstairs, so not much dog hair!
