Mine were both chipped at the age of 10 weeks I didnt have them tatooed because I didnt know of anywhere in Scotland that did it at that time.

Azz you are right I think at least I know this happens in my area (Lanarkshire) there is a mobile unit every now and again and anybody can take their pet along (whether on income support or not) as long as you bring a bill with your name & address they will chip your dog for free......only cost me £15 at the vets to have chipped not sure how much the tatooing costs.

Its the law by December in Switzerland for all dogs and cats to have microchips.

All of ours have chips, save for the one cat, and she'll need done soon. I am going to get Tamino tattooed, but don't know about Penny and Lucy.

Its a great idea though.

Teagan is chipped, it only cost £9!
Kingsley isn't, I don't think chips were out/common when I got him, and just never got round to getting him done.
My cat isn't, as she's going to die soon, so not fair to put her under the stress!!

Olive's chipped, would like to get her tattooed but I think it would be very distressing for her - so haven't made up my mind yet .
