Frumps poem
I miss you
You were my dog, my boy, my forever friend
Even after a year, I cannot believe this was the end.
We found you in Battersea, a wounded solidier, with sad eyes.
You were terrifed of the world, but so gentle, and so wise.
They had named you Frump, somehow it was so very "you"
I tried to think of others, and nicknamed you "baby blue".
You were so scared of us to begin with, and used to run and hide
You had never lived indoors before, and used to bolt for the great outside
Over the years you began to relax, but would let only me stroke your head
With anyone else you would look away, and gaze into the distance instead.
You were never a dominant lad, over you all other dogs could walk
I longed to reassure you all was well, oh if only you'd been able to talk!
You were so loyal to me, so faithful, and followed me everywhere
Even now when I come into the house, I wonder why you aren't there
We both had traumatic pasts, it gave us a bond, a link -
That seemed to tie us together, something in common I think
It was as if we were meant to find each other, meant to share a while
We were sent to each other I felt, to heal, to make us smile.
You were unique, you were special, you were silly,
You were wise
You were daft, you were nuts, completly gaga -
You were an angel in disguise
