I'm sure you'll get used to it. I'm always a bit disappointed after having my hair done because it's never quite what I expect. I hope you get used to it

Your best bet is to look through some magazines and then
talk to the hairdresser concerned. Do you want a wash and wear style or have you time to blow dry it in the morning. ?
I keep my hair short as I cant bear that inbetween stage.
Concerning Extentions..I was dying for long hair once so I had them . Well they lasted one weel as I couldnt sleep fot the glue bits near the scalp.
Some people love them but they only last aroung 4-5 months and have to be done again
Remember if you have colour you will have to get your roots done

Thanks for the advice
I wanted to take a photo so they would have a basic idea of what I want. I'm useless at explaining! I don't mind if they change it so that it suits me more. I just find it easier han talking. I'm not getting it dyed or highlighted, just a cut. I need something that's reasonably "wash and go" because I'm not good with hairdryers, straightners etc. 
Still not sure when i'm getting it done though
