Yes indeed. However, after two weeks spent in your climate - have to say I know which country my BONES prefer! Was the first time I can honestly say I was GLAD I didn't have Bella with me. She'd have hated it. Cold wind, heavy driving rain, more rain and then more rain and worse wind and more rain ..... arghh!

Took my sister's dog out a couple of times - I must have looked like someone navigating a land mine area. Treading so carefully on the sodden, slimey ground. Then the performance of cleaning off her big WHITE dog when we got back lol! Then putting all my clothes to dry and cleaning my boots. It was like a full time occupation if you went out twice a day!

And I noticed the smell in shops with so many sodden outer garments and coats!

I think after 7-8 yrs here I've sort of forgotten just how grim it can sometimes be in the UK. I just hope you do have some sort of summer this year.

Yes Minpins rank among the fastest dogs (tho I'm sure those with longer legs than shorty Bella's can run even faster!) she's outrun spaniels, staffies, dalmations, rotties and all sorts to the amusement of other owners.

In the UK last year when one bloke with a huge RottiexStaffy said 'he might chase her but he won't EAT her' another dog owner I'd met a few times replied - he can chase her but he won't CATCH her! She is just a total BLUR when she puts on a spurt. It makes me laugh because she doesn't run AWAY from them and keep going (thank gawd) she runs in ever increasing CIRCLES!

My neighbour with the Cyp Poodle (who Bella frequently outruns) says it's as if she is saying 'look how fast I can run - you can't keep up!'

Must be the Italian Greyhound mix in the breed I reckon. Fortunately she spends more time dossing and burying herself under cushions and blankets than she does showing off her speed! When she was a puppy, she'd do it in the apartment - made us crease up laughing as she hurtled back and forth and round and round.

You can 'make her do it' too - just stand up and stamp your foot at her and SHE'S OFF
! lol!

I can make Chloe run around in circles at speed too if I stamp my foot....
... or when she see me approaching her with a piece of kitchen roll to dry her dripping beard when she has been drinking Then it is ten times around the dining table..

Love the new harness and its always nice when a good fitting one is found ... well not literally 'found' as I assume you bought it
She looks very cute and how tolerant she is off all the loose dogs you meet. Rucksack would be in meltdown Please send some sunshine over here.

Bella looks so smart.. I need a new harness for Daisy, she HATES the one I have for her and never wears it, mostly as it rubs her under her armpits.. so I don't put it on her, I need to be a better Dog owner and find one that fits her and is comfortable!! padded too!! I am a terrible Momma!

Larfing at Meg saying Chloe runs from approaching kitchen roll.. Daisy is the same and then once she is cleaned up she wants to eat the paper stooped doglet!!

They are quite uncomplicated creatures really aren't they! Stamp your foot and off they go lol! Works especially well on hard tiled floors! Bella would hold her head up for you to wipe her face or ears (loves it) but aim towards her FEET and it's a different story! Under the table she goes!

That was the main problem with all the ones I found before - caught her under the armpits and she hated it and I don't blame her. Last harness she had was when still not fully grown and it was for a CAT (still cost about 14 mind you) and I have been trying to replace it for 3 years now. Here she is wearing the original one (taking in the sights from the open top bus tour!)

I am looking for a small envelope to parcel some sun up and send to you Jenny. You DO have my sympathy - 2wks of it was enough for me.

I'd tried taking her and fitting them but, to be honest, until you try walking them in them you can't really tell if it will suit or not, or slide round or not and loads of them had metal adjusters. No buckles at all for the bit her head goes through with this one and I'm well chuffed to have found it - it isn't on biggest chest adjustment but I doubt she will get bigger and her neck definitely won't!

Minpins are small dogs but quite 'deep chested' and have little pointy heads and a neck that seems to be wider than head (probably for going down rat holes!) so collars not ideal as they could wriggle out if they were determined unless you had it very tight. Which is why her collar is a very wide, soft neoprene cushioned one.

Fortunately she doesn't try to wriggle out ever and doesn't even pull on the lead at all. Still like her to be comfy tho and more importantly when others are walking her and she might not behave quite so well with them as with me. My daughter often moans 'she doesn't take a blind bit of notice' of her! She will only let her off lead if down at the lake and well down onto the shore round it.

Yes Nippy - some I'd looked at had velcro neck fastening. I am much happier with NO fastenings at neck and just slip over her head. Others were just too padded or furry lined for her here in the heat. This one is padded nylon but 'breathable' and it's only the bit round the neck and down the front that's padded at all. Don't want any padding on her back or under her belly.

It's this one and of course they are probably much cheaper in UK. I was just delighted to find it here. I was a way off from where I live - visiting M&S foodhall to stock up on goodies when I spotted it in our big LoveBirds Pet shop.

The photo I like best is the one where all 3 dogs 'stopped' and took up their 'own space' forming a triangle! It was like 'right this is MY bit - now let's take a break!'
