I was also thinking a cocker spaniel. Not too small, great personality, very friendly and loving with people and animals.
If your jogging is random I think they don't expect it, but if you start doing it everyday then they grow to need it.
Another option might be a staffy, my staffy cross was very energetic as a puppy but just 15 mins of training would have him tired out. Although not sure I would like to see a staffy and a greyhound play... just because of the roughness of a staffy.

If you like the sighties but want something that is more for endurance then have a look at the Sloughi and Azawakh. Both are pretty uncommon breeds and not "typical" sighthounds but very lovely dogs
