Daily Thread Thursday 15th April 2021

Been to the specialist and back with the dog....£230 odd quid and she has steroids.....5minutes in a car park and 21 tablets.....I was quite insistent that she was actually the same as she was before treatment but he is insisting that surgery isn't the right thing to do.... although my vet thinks it is

Good morning Kelly, Kazz and all whofollow

Not the outcome you want or expected Kelly. I agree with Kazz this can't continue as it is something needs to be done.

You shouldn't be sorting out the mess made by the roofers and scaffolders Lynn. It was agreed that they would pay for any damage so pay they must.

Another lovely day. Teazle walked and some more gardening done. Now coffee time

Hope all are well. Stay safe.

He examined her neck and said it was less sore than last time, last time we went in the car park he said that she had a very sore elbow and when I pointed out my vet said it wasn't significant he came out with a load of nonsense.......let's just hope the steroids work. Funny isn't it, you both get what I am saying but he doesn't understand

Morning griff, Kazz, Sue and all to follow.

Goodness griff I hope the steroids work. I am so glad our vet listens and knows we know our dog.

Well the upshot is Gorden has gone down the side and cleaned the gutter out
and is now washing it all down.
He is flabbergasted how the roofer can say there is rotten wood under there you can't see behind it. We are now of the opinion he doesn't want to or can't pay the scaffolder even though he has had the roofing money from next door and is using us an excuse.
Graham and Lorraine's problem is far bigger than ours so they can fight between them regards that damage.
Gorden has managed to manipulate the corner almost back where it should be and will mastic it over the weekend and we think it will be fine.
There is one round mark from the scaffold pole but to be honest he had to point out for me to see it.
Apart from maintaining that side of the bungalow mostly the gutter we never go down there anyway and it makes my neck ache to constantly be looking up.
So we are going to decline the offer of the roofer fixing something that doesn't need fixing. He can then argue the damage regards next door and his neighbour and they can have their little fight and keep us out of it.
If there was damage that needed fixing we would stand our ground but to be honest it thankfully has no major damage nothing we can't fix and we don't particularly want that roofer back pulling off a perfectly good fascia board

Not after looking at Grahams roof and the bad pointing on the ridge tiles.

I have a feeling we may not hear from them. That's fine by me.

Keep safe everyone.

Lynn, very relieved that you won't need them to do the work but really sorry you have had the worry and stress... feel for your neighbours, I don't think they will get very far with either person
It's not my own vet Lynn, it's a specialist referral, had it been my own vet, he would listen to what I have to say, he knows if he says rest.... that's what the dog gets. He once said to me that he is happy to return my animals to me on the night of major surgery ( diesels splenectomy) because he knows that she would get better care with me than what he could offer, he knows that I have sat up for 24hours keeping watch over my pets and I will do whatever is needed for them.....I now have to ring and leave a message for him to say no surgery...just steroids, I am sure his opinion will be the same as mine!

Oh yes sorry griff forgot it was the specialist. Fingers crossed his advice works.
Dillon's vet was happy for him to come home instead of spending a 2nd night in the vet as he wouldn't eat in there.
They know any concern we would rush him back in and follow any advice given when returning him back to us.

Gorden rang the roofer and told him what he had done and we don't need them to fix anything he said thanks and we can now pay the scaffolder. Gorden then rang the scaffolder and told him the same and both know Gorden has rung each of them.
If I never see either of them again it will be to soon. So relieved it's all sorted.
Have to ring the guy who was coming to give us an independent quote on Tuesday.

Pleased it's sorted Lynn but I would not be happy about being dragged into that mess.....at least you know who NOT to use should you need scaffolding or a roof repair lol
Rung and left a message for my vet....not sure if he will call me but I will deffo not be using them after Dakota's treatment, I didn't want to go after diesels visit there and it would appear that all these years on, nothing has changed....next time my dad can s*d off, I will get her to wherever is best for her......not closest

I've had a vet I would not touch again in Essex but they have franchises all over the country and I give them a very wide berth.
I also never recommend them to anyone asking about vets. I totally get where you are coming from.

Lol yes we know who not to use if ever we ever need anything like that. We have a lovely independent window, door company etc., round the corner.
They were popping round Tuesday to give some advice and a possible quote.
I have rung them to cancel and the guy was very appreciative especially as they are very busy.
Hairdressers etc., and all sorts of companies seem surprised that someone rings to cancel obviously another thing going out of fashion very fast. Courtesy.
