A year on from Lucy going to the 'bridge' is not long and your raw emotion is still very raw. Only dog owners can understand just how much a part of the family they become!
I lost my beautiful Cassie in September 2010 and just reading some of the posts on this thread have brought tears to my eyes. She was 15yrs and we had here since she was a weeny pup.
I couldn't bury her here in my garden (on flood plain) so had her cremated and now I still can't bring myself to scatter her. She is here with us still and I take comfort to know she is near. One day I will scatter her but just not yet.
The trouble is a dog's life span is short compared to ours and as we all know time passes by so quickly.
Take comfort in your happy memories of Lucy and just think how lucky you were to be a part of each others lives.

Sorry for your loss Diane I don't think we ever get over such losses, just learn to cope with them.

Keep running free Lucy.

This thread has made me break down in tears. Maybe I'm feeling a little more sensitive today.

((((((((((((((Group Hug))))))))))))))) to us all.

Take comfort in the knowledge that all our loyal and best friends are still with us until we meet again x x

In tears (yet again) reading all of your lovely posts on here and your wonderful kind words & thoughts. Nice to know that I am not alone and I know many of you are going through the same absolute same devastation as me. I know I will never ever get over the loss of my precious Lucy, but I do know that she is still here with me and watching over me every day. Big Hugs to everyone who has lost their most precious and beloved friend. xx
