Good luck for today, hope everything goes smoothly for you and you get a result from the skin scrape.

Hi everyone we took Alfie to the vets at half past 9 this morning the vet sedated him in the car park then he took him in with a little pushing from us into the surgery, I was upset lol as I have never left him any were before due to his anxiety I have called them earlier they told me he would be ready to discharge at half past 2 I rang again 5 minutes ago they said he is still woozy and to call back between 4 and half past, I did ask about the price so I knew which card to take in! £665.50 I'm so glad I'm insured! my husbands got more grey hairs now ha ha thanks everyone that gave advice and asked after him I shall pop on again later when we bring him home let you all know how he is

I am still wondering how you got Alfie into a Ford Ka! Never mind, all over now apart from the cost and the wait for the results of the skin scrapes. I know they have to do a culture as well as checking under a microscope, and IIRC I got Pereg's culture results in ~5 days. Fingers crossed the scrapes will show up something easily curable.

Pereg says to tell Alfie he was a brave boy and sends her love! xx

So glad it's all over now for poor Alfie and you, except that huge bill of course which has got to be faced somehow.

Let's hope it shows something up so that he can get treated quickly and be on the mend. He's been such a brave boy.

That's a hefty old bill there for a skin scrape My female was speyed for half that price!!! I would ask for a breakdown of that bill if I were you.

Good luck with him when you pick him up, he's a big boy and the aneasthetic is going to take a while to get out of his system.

Hi everyone he's home now! yes we too thought that was expensive but whilst the vet had him sedated he noticed his eye lid was turning in (Entropion) so he went ahead and did surgery so he wouldn't have to put him under again with him being a big dog with anxiety - he did the skin scrapes and also blood tests I find out in two weeks all the results! I shall let you all know what they bring ;S He's whining at the moment and cant seem to rest I think that may be the gigantic Elizabethian collar he has on, I'm just so glad he's home my heart can stop skipping beats now xx
