Peluche Has Heartworm

I am devastated. He can't go through the treatment, he's too old and wouldn't make it through the treatment. I don't want to give him drugs as his kidney levels are a bit elevated and i'm afraid of his body not being able to handle it.

I don't want to think about the fact of having to let him go so we have decided to let him live out his life naturally (unless he's in pain and suffering).

I did find a holistic vet that is very well known for her good work. I want to see if there is anything that can be done to make him less of a risk of infecting the other dogs, that is pretty much my goal.

Peluche is so full of life but I knew that he could go at any time when I brought him home.
I will be taking him on Wednesday. Please send my Little Man some positive vibes.

You are so lucky. I never thought one of my guys would get heartworm, even though i've had multiple fosters that had to go through the treatment.
