Does your dog behave better..

On his own, with his own pack or with a large number of dogs..

I think Leanne asked me a similar question the other day.. but I find Louie behaves better for me when he is both on his own or with a large number of dogs - but when we have him out with Sadie and/or Benjie he doesn't always do what he is told.

I think I don't notice anything when there are a large amount of dogs we are walking with - for example the 11 others last Saturday, because there is so much going on - I just have to watch where he is..

How about your dog/dogs?

Ruby behaves the same on her own as she does when out with others, even when I went to visit Jem & there ended up being a dog party at one point,Ruby still recalled everytime & was lovely.
Khal goes on hyper overdrive around other dogs, but if they dont entertain him then he'll nick off & do hjs own thing. Not much different to bein at home tbh lol
Sasi will go to other dogs for a sniff then realises shes out of her comfort zone & zooms back to mam for cuddles! In the house she is much more lively!

I love having my three seperated. Poppy is a nut job, and we have loads of fun together...but when she is with the other two she does my head in!

Hmmm.....interesting thread

Dexter's recall is far, far better if we are walking with a group of dogs. He will recall virtually every single time.

When we are alone, then the recall is still hit and miss - as illustrated this morning when Dexter ignored my recall command, and decided instead to go hurtling over the field to greet one of his (many!) girlfriends, Tess the "goldendoodle".

I put him back on the Flexi straight away and there he stayed for the rest of the walk!

My lot are better in a group of dogs. They tend to stick closer to me and dont much bother with hunting and actively seeking out things to chase. I think it's because the company is different so they are happy socialising with the other dogs and there are more humans so they have to concentrate more on where I am.

But alone or together they behave the same.

Mine are better when walked seperately - the pack mentality just disappears....

Actually, mine are complete angels for other people, as soon as I have the lead in my hand they turn into little b*ggers...

Max goes for an op at the vets (has bitten every vet at the practice and some of the nurses too). I warn them that he needs muzzling for them to do anything medical to him. They don't muzzle him and he is fine with them. The vet brings him out to me in the evening. She waxes lyrical about how lovely he is and what a babe he is. Max is currently stood against her, wagging tail, huge adorable eyes. She hands me his lead - none of us move (me, vet, Max). She reaches down to stroke Max, as she had been doing 30 seconds ago. He turns his head and bites her hand. I say "this is why we muzzle him"....

O I think mine are like children, they normally sink to the lowest common denominator!

So are far better out by themselves (as of course they have my FULL attention) or each other than a mob.
