DIY pond bought the pond itself rigid and Gorden bought the wood and decking to go round the edge and did it himself and we chose the colour together and he painted it.
Altogether cost just ver £300 similar sent as a kit a lot over £300 and not necessarily with the pum which we spirced ourselves to.
We have two goldfish and a shubunkin already and room for maybe one or two more goldfish.
Hoping to get damsel flies and dragonflies as we have a lot of ponds nearby.

We got the pond from Porton aquatics https://www.portonaquapet.co.uk/shop...0-x-46cm-M5096 Best deal we could find and Gorden built round it.

That's good griff probably wouldn't get many fish in there. We can have max of 5 goldfish although I would love Koi not enough room as they outgrow the pond if it's small whereas goldfish and shubunkins grow to the space they have and as long as you don't overload it all comes down to oxygen levels that they need should be fine as long as you don't overload it.
Way back when the boys were young we had a huge pond in one of our then huge gardens and had koi.
When we moved it was a tiddly pond already there and when we moved to Harlow we put one in as we love ponds and if even just a couple of fish better than none.
Upwell well we could of had a huge pond again but we knew we weren't staying so here it was a smallish pond and due to gravel and patio knew it would be easier to have one like we have.
Gorden is past digging down deep now and anything is better than nothing in our eyes nice pump and the noise of the water and a few fish swimming about and attracting some hopefully wildlife. We are happy.
Plus it makes a great drinking bowl for Dillon.

It is great when the weather is nice seeing the fish swimming about sitting on the old sofas outside in the sun. Lazy sunny days ahead hopefully.
Go for it I am sure you will get much enjoyment from it apparently Beth told me this living by water and trees extends your life.

Lol... well I deffo need to extend my life and Steve could do with it too...unless I kill him lol. I thought maybe 2 or 3 but could look for something a bit bigger, he was on about it last summer and then he lost interest as it does involve digging, If I saved up and bought something like that, he could just put it together, let it settle and add the fishes
