My aunty and uncle had a wonderful farm in a valley in Wales and one of their cows was quite happy walking from the field to be milked with my 2 cousins on its back. Probably not the comfiest of rides as unlike horses they have quite prominent spines.
I too love cows. And sheep and pigs and ducks and hens and turkeys and every animal really. The only creature I'm not too fussed on sadly, are humans. I've seen too much of their cruelty towards creatures that cannot defend themselves and have no choice in what happens to them .
but your cows seem to be loved and well looked after which is so nice to see these days.
Oh Hello! Welcome to the "club of cow lovers"!
and what a lovely story and imagine about that farm of your aunty and uncle in Wales (though I've never been there
) and your 2 cousins riding on a cow...
and you are just too right at your second paragraph
just confirms my signature on here, that I'm thinking likewise
but "these" cows are getting just loved by me
for my BF, their owner, they are just and only livestock
not getting treated badly but just are getting "used" "needed"
these youger ones are more or less "my crew"
as there I had more time to spent with them, when they just got born
and still, every time he gave out to me, that I should not "pamper" them and there were better things to do
though I helped him only voluntary at my short weekends off work!!! milking the older ones, feeding etc etc...
but I just didn't care
everyone did still get a nice word (and some cuddles) instead of a harsh one
right the first pic of the older, already milk cows, where I say, that's Yvonne's mum...
there's a little story about her first calf, called Yvonne (by me)
she was also a very shy, nervous cow
never got taught trust towards humans, just got raised for making money by giving milk, so sad
when she got her first calf on the pasture, my BF got quite in trouble to catch her
I've been at work and he told me, that he couldn't get her, she escaped every time, broke through the fence and so on
only by the help of another farmer, they finally got her after hours chasing for her, when they finally got her into an edge where she just couldn't escape anymore
right that time there was a big story about "Yvonne the cow"
so funny, as actually I found that story online at Wikipedia in English for you
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yvonne_(cow)
so after that I called her daughter Yvonne
I took alot of time for especially Yvonnes mum, now at least she calmed down towards humans and to me...
not really cuddling but even on the pasture, she comes to me for a hello
...and I'm not afraid of her horns, as she wouldn'd do anything to me
