I've only seen the shiba on the crufts TV prog. Thought it looked lovely.

Lucky you. What are they like, compared with, say, a staffy or a lab?

Friend of mine in the Malamute circles has two shibas, they are lovely, one has recently gone blind in one eye and losing sight in the other, think its some sort of degenerative disease not sure, but its coping well, the coats on them is so dense, lovely.

no there are not many about ...they only have small litters and theres not many registered each year
What are they like?? Oh blimey...stubborn,dominant little dogs with HUGE attitudes!!They are unreliable off lead and have a high prey drive.However they have enormous characters and are real clowns at times.
I was told before I got my first one that you either LOVE them or hate them...well we all love them to bits !
