Toffee having Canine removed tomorrow

Toffee has always had good teeth, but one of her canines has gone bad at the top, probably with an abcess. The vet said something about calcium resorbtion? I was quite shocked to to told it was a much bigger operation than I'd thought. I thought the tooth could be pulled out, but it will involve cutting the bone & stitches. Poor Toffee She had a major cancer op last spring, I'm dreading leaving her at the vet again.
Has anyone's dog had this op? How was the recovery?

My Fingal (I will see if I can find the thread) had a hugely swollen face which seemed to come up over night.

He ended up having an op although it was side teeth.

He was no spring chicken at the time and it was just a result of chewing rocks and getting on a bit.

A course of ABS afterwards helped. The swelling went away - as did the death breath !

Luckily the mouth heals pretty well so I wouldn't be too worried about it Kitty.

My cat had some teeth removed and she recovered quite quickly.

thanks for the reassurances. I have to trust the vet, just feel so sorry
for her, she's been through alot of health problems the past year & I thought it was all over now. I hope it all goes smoothly.

lucky for Toffee, when the tooth had been cleaned up it was found to be ok underneath, just some infection in the gum.
