my dog,a pitbull !!!!

well guys,i cant believe it either
this evening,at 7pm ish there was a loud bang on my front door,to my there stood a police woman
'we have received a report that you have a dangerous dog on this property,a pitbull to be specific'
'wot' i said,'i own a dogue de bordeaux,which is a type of mastiff'
neway i invited her in,let her see trinny,
'bit small 4 a mastiff,do you have ne paperwork'
'yes i do,shes a champion pedigree and shes 'small' as shes only 11months and not fully grown' i replied
i showed her trins paperwork for her to reply 'i will need to take some details of the breeder,do some checks and your dog mite have to be assessed,we take this very seriously wether shes a full pit bull or not'
i couldnt believe it,i then kindly told her to get out of my house then when shes done her 'checks' to get a warrant b4 having the nerve to come back
i cant believe this is happening to me
surely they cant take trin away,she looks nothing like a pitbull,shes bigger than my mums rotti
i no whos done this,its all lies and shes bin making my life hell since her dog bit my boy

Ok first things first Calm down,your dog will get distressed if you are.
I doubt if you will hear anymore to be honest but if they come back,ask for a warrant if they haven't got one tell them to go and get one.
Refuse to sign anything,if they insist on taking your dog tell them you either want to be charged under the DDA or you want your dog returned.

That is ridiculous! How the hell does a Dogue de Bordeaux look like a pitbull? How the dickens is a policewoman equipped to determine whether or not a dog is 'big enough' for it's breed? It sounds like she's just following up an allegation as she obviously has no idea what she's talking about. You'll get a lot of support on the forum but I'm sure you won't need it when the police realise they're barking up the wrong tree.

I've posted it on here before but the cops get the DEFRA leaflet which shows examples of the breeds & 'type' - Pit Bull Terrior 'type'
Japanese Tosas, Dogo Argentinos & Fila Brasilerios so they should know the difference.

Probably because most don't know the difference,
Just remain calm,what use a KC Number is on a Friday evening i'll never know,they can't check it with the KC as they are shut till monday.
You didn't let them have you registration documents did you?

Sadly because there are some people who have false paperwork, hopefully they will contact the KC and that will be that.

she asked if she could have her papers and i said she could see them but she wasnt taking them,thats wen she took trins number.
