Top ten most dangerous dogs?

Watching cesar Milan he's looking at the top ten breeds perceived as aggressive by the general American public. Top three are no real surprise I suppose 3. Rottweiller 2.german shepherd 1. Pitbull.

I was surprised that in the top ten were the great Dane, Siberian husky and the malamute! Are these breeds really perceived as dangerous and aggressive?

I am generally of the belief that there are no bad breeds per se but what would you say are the top ten perceived dangerous dog in the uk? If you copy the list in this post you can change any one dog. Eventually we will get the dogsey top ten 'perceived as dangerous' dogs.

1. American pitbull
2. Rottweiller
3. Doberman
4. German shepherd
5. Bull mastiff
6. Akita
7. Staffordshire bull terrier
8. Chow
9. Shar pei
10. Large breed mongrel

A few years back when a survey was done of A&E units records, Black Labradors came out "tops"in the bite charts !! As there are more Labradors bred in the UK than any other breed then I would expect this to be the result.

If you look at the list, and then think of which dogs are most desirable to those who just want a dog for image...there's a clear answer as to why these breeds are on the list. Sadly all these dogs are either perceived as 'hard' or in the case of huskies, pretty.

Yup it is the numpty on the other end of the lead
although the breeding of some dogs dosnet help
some GSD's being bred for guarding ability can be hard to socalise, vocal and nervous.
I have seen some v nasty terriers - JRT's can be pretty reactive and I have seen one jump to head height to try and bite someone in the face

But the most aggressive dog I have ever met was an old English Sheepdog! He was kept in a yard with a 8 foot glass topped wall and he was walked with a milk crate on the lead so he couldnt turn on the owner

The ones I`ve found most likely to snap are the Toy breeds and small terriers - probably because a lot of people treat them as dollies not dogs (not the dogs fault).
I suppose they`re not really macho enough for the list.
Interesting that crossbreeds don`t bite isn`t it?
