Pets have to be quarantined unless the place that they are brough in from and taken to is using the pet passport scheme You can see the full list of places and all the information you need to know of the defra website that I gave a link for.

You have to have your dog microchipped, blood tested and vaccinated. You also have to have the right proof of vaccination ect. You then have to pay for quarantine ect.

Yes, because Rabies can take up to 6 months to show, hence the reason for the 6 month quarentine

have you looked here http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/quarantine/index.htm ?????

That will sort out all the fact from the fiction. That is the website that you really need to look at cause that is the home of the pet passport scheme ect...

I don't think so Abbas, in addition, if the dog looks like it is classed under the DDA, it may be sent back... at your own expense.

As far as I know, if the country is not in the Passport scheme, then the dog has to be quarentined for 6 months.
This is because Rabies can take up to 6 months to show if contracted. They want them quarentined in the country they will be lving in, as all countries have different laws - England being a rabies free (hopefully) country.

See here: http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/quar...rantine/qa.htm

If you are still unsure, give DERFA a ring.
