The Mystery of the red crosses (missing pics) ;0)

To the clever 'puter people among you this will be so obvious but if you are a bit simple like me it will not
If you go back and look at people's pictures you will see some of them have turned into a red cross. The reason for this is the link has been broken. When you load a pic on to DW from a 'host site' like photobucket you are just linking the two sites not leaving your picture on DW (as I thought in my ignorance before deleting pictures) If at a later date you go to the host and remove the picture it will disapear from DW too leaving a little red cross. You then need to go back and replace the picture with the host site to restore the link. Hope this makes sense

Yes thats completely true, the image must at all time remain on photobucket (or the host that you used) as they actually store it. Dogweb only displays them...

Imagine if Dogweb stored them as well... it would take me days to do a back up!
