New job update

well many said it wasn't the job for them ...some friends said they admire carers but could never do it themselves this left me feeling was i the right sort of person to do this job and would i cope with all that it brings...

3 weeks in after a daunting start rather thrown in at the deep end i have survived and more important so have the resisdents in the home where i work we have a lot of just elderly but many with mental health problems these i find the most challenging

The job itself YES has down side's dirty bottoms and special need's care but I have never found anything more interesting than making friends with some minds they are so closed off

all in all its going great its not like work its more like going to a big house for the evening getting to know what sort of day they have had and tucking then up into bed with a Kiss and a hug ( which they all love )

the only sad thing is its taken me so long to change jobs

I am so pleased Inca that you are starting to feel settled and enjoy the new carrer.

A close friend owns home from home, care home and the worst part of the job, is all the paperwork. Also it is very emotional when you loose a resident that you have become close too.

Great to know you are loving your job, home from home really. It's just a wonderfully satisfying job, and like most, it has it's best bits and it's bad bits-inco pads rule ok.

Keep up the good work x
