My new stairs - some ideas please!!!

Anyone got any ideas to help me out here please, they need to know what sort of newel posts I want and spindles, but I told them I've lived in a bungalow for 20 years and I have now idea what's in vogue????? Any help would be much appreciated please, although he said he'd do me a turned newell with balls as opposed to something else I can't remember!!! I'm alright with the bathroom design I've done that bit, but I never thought about those stairs!!!

Thanks Tracy He's had to order them today, we're all rush, rush rush here, don't know why, so I told him vaguely what I wanted, turned newells, I don't like those plain old things or the stop chamfered ones (oooooh get me!!!)I want the Hyacinth type So he's getting me a turned newell post with ball as opposed to walnuts and he says it will look nice! I hope so!! I will ask for a brochure or a website before choosing the posts though!

Sorry H, no idea . I'm not one for following fashion though so why not get some brochures/look on the Internet and just pick what takes your fancy?

Any showhomes near you? The big builders usually do their market research into what people are liking.

Lol Jackie, but I think you must be talking about our "second home" here????!!!! Never the "caravan" or "mobile home"!!!!

Thanks LUcky, that's exactly what I've done and gone for the twiddly bits ones! Oh, and a big ball on top!!!

Thanks Hewey, I think the "in" ones are the stop chamfered but I don't like those, they're too plain and boring!
