Silly Rory (& some other bits!)

"Murrrrr... ooooh yes, can't beat a lovely ear rub... thanks mum Murrrr murrrrr"

Hope you've all been having a good week!
If anyone missed us, its because the *bleep* internet provider decided mistakenly cut us off and my laptop decided to give up on life so! Gah!
Ripley is off to the vets for her keyhole spay on Monday and Rory was in today because he's been hopping around on three legs... Apparently he's pulled one of his toes, and since he seems to be in no pain (no yelping or even pulling away when its touched) I've been advised to just keep him quiet and see how it goes
Oh yes, and Frodderz has got no teefs

Our boxer friends mum has brought home a new puppy too - against all advice otherwise. - as he's not even 6 weeks old yet

Such lovely pictures! Who's Frodo going to play with with two invalids in the house? I love the picture of the teefs, such a cute scruffy chin, I just want to snuggle him! The one of them all on the bed is very sweet too. Remus' left her does that exact same pointing down to his nose flat on his head thing too. : ) I bet he would love to play with your gang!

Well if ever a Title was guaranteed to get me to click on it it has to be one with RORY in it!

Delightful pics. Bit of a heart-stopper there reading about little blackface hopping around on 3 legs? Hope that clears up soon. Maybe he is just trying to veer the attention away from the exhibitionist Frodo!

That toothless pic?

I think you should send Rory over to Cyprus for a mini break
Thought maybe you'd gone on hollies
Gorgeous photos as always

Lovely thought but even I have to (grudgingly) admit that these three look like the BEST of PALS don't they? Just look at them all together there.

Only a heartless person would split them up!

Regarding the tender age of the boxer pup - it's the norm here for people to sell or give the pups away when they are 6wks old. Really surprised me. And of course some are probably not even that old.

But I've read lots about dogs not being properly socialised if parted too soon from the mother and yet (as I've said many times) I meet and see hardly any unsociable dogs here in Cyprus?

I was thinking about the age of the pup too, these things change with research and personal opinion too. I was reading an article recently about the prime socialisation period being from 6 to 16 week and suggesting that six was a good age to take a pup home but younger was not. By 6 weeks they'd learnt quite a bit from their litter mates and mum but, as they were to be living in a human family as an adult it was important to move them to that home. Like I say, these things will continue to change with research and opinion.

I'm amazed that Remus is so well rounded seeing as he spent his first 12 weeks in a deralict caravan with one litter brother and only seeing a person very infrequently.

I can certainly remember when I was young (which I have to admit was a long time ago) puppies were often 'ready to go' at 6 weeks.

Then I had decades of rescues until I got Pepe - his breeder wouldn't let them go until just over eight weeks.
