So do you get long haired and short haired mals then?
Dont get me wrong there ALL lovely looking dogs I just thought they looked very different...but that would be the breeding then!

Would love to see some pic of your dogs...and the difference they can look from different angle picz!

Aww Thanks Koda...

I love long haired Mals..but sadly there won't be many about from good breeders in the future as there is now a test to determine if dogs are carriers of the long coat gene

In my first litter I had two long hair mals (pet only) this was before the test that Lou mentioned was developed, the longcoat gene is a ressive gene and you need two carriers to produce them, now the test is here I mated my Loncoat carrier to a dog that was oncoat clear and produced no longcoats in the litter.

There is alot of difference in the two pics that is amazing.. looks like a total change in colour and a different dog!

Long coat seal from my first litter.

and normal coated bitch (my girl) from the same litter, who incidentally got a 1st in her class this year at crufts.

We work ours for fun.. we don't pull them..well maybe Lola sometimes LOL
