Two of the parrots there used to belong to us!!
One is a small African Grey (Timneh) called Jack. He was my Mum's and she adored him but since my brother and I left home and my grandfather died, there is no-one at home most of the day and it wasn't fair to leave him alone for long periods all the time. My mum hated parting with him but it was in his best interests and she still visits him
The other is is an Amazon (blue fronted) called Pedro who we rescued and rehabilitated but we couldn't keep him as we still had Jack at the time and they hated each other with a vengeance.
They both seem happy and well cared for in their new home any time we've visited so I think it was for the best all round.
It's a really nice place to visit, especially on a good day (rare in this country, I know
) but I have to admit to going through the insect bit very quickly with my eyes shut...I'm a big wuss when it comes to creepy crawlies!!
Butterflies are beautiful though...I love it when they land on you and you can see them so close up
