And I thought some basic foods were zero rated, in fact there has been a highly amusing media story recently about Cornish pasties, if they are sold hot they were to have VAT applied, but if you left them on the counter until they had cooled down they were allowed to sell them with no VAT
I think there has been a re-think now and
all Cornish pasties (Whether hot or cold) are sold without VAT, a victory for Cornish pasty lovers, like me
