I am not afraid of the random bombings - I am more afraid at the moment of the rising tensions between people and countries - there seems to be so much hatred and misunderstanding at the moment - and nobody is happy with it

Same here mini, I've only ever been to London 3 times, last time the kids were babies and it was just soooo overpowering, I don't suffer claustrophobia but boy did I start having panic attacks.............and now with what's happened I certainly WON'T be going back, our eldest daughter wanted to go to London recently with friends, as a celebration of school finishing, of course I was the wicked mother for not letting her go, but after the bombs I think she understands.

NO, but perhaps at my age you take things as they come having seen it all before.

Someone just emailed me this

LONDON PRIDE

You come to place your bags of hate
On bus and train, you made us late
Yet we'll be back again tomorrow
We'll carry on despite our sorrow
Your bags of hate caused some to die
Yet we stride out strong with heads held high
You'll never win, we will not bow
You can't defeat us, you don't know how
This London which we love with pride
Is a town where scum like you can't hide
Don't worry we will hunt you down
Then Lock you up in name of Crown
We're London and we're many races
Just look you'll see our stoic faces
We all condemn your heinous act
You will not win and that's a fact
We'll mourn our dead and shed a tear
But we will not bow to acts of fear
You're out there somewhere all alone
There's nowhere now you can call home
Olympics ours we've won the race
Your timing then a real disgrace
Our strength you'll find remains unbowed
We're British and we're very proud

I feel safe where I live in Dorset. But would not be at all keen on going to London atm. Having said that, the last time I went there I was 14 and am 37 now!

Not really, living so far North I always think they'd go some where further South to cause more disruption.

It won't stop me going into cities or towns though, that's what they want.

If I wanted to go somewhere it would not stop me. Like Steve and others I won't let them beat me.

I will talk to who I want to, when I want to, and go where I want to. I;m a bit stubborn like that I suppose.

Have to agree Mini. I avoid the city centres and 'shopping centres'. I have only been to London once and it scared the bejeebers out of me, not for any other reason but that I hate shopping and walking amongst people who don't know what they want so stop every few feet to gorp in windows, drives me up the wall

i will be perfectly honest with you all.

yes im afraid,, afraid that i will get on a bus with my children and maybe not get back off! it terrifies me and i live 2 hours away from london, but if these people have no respect for their own lives then what chance do we have?? i have kids and im afraid for them, if this is what the world has come to now, what will it be like 20 years down the line??
