My kennels lady has a St Bernard. She said you are lucky if they live past 8 and unlikely to live beyond 10 so 6 yrs would be 'getting on a bit' for them.

Also that unlike some breeds, they do not require a lot of strenuous exercise and are better with moderate or short walks. If kept indoors they are apparently quite sedentary.

Hi Lynn, wow what a wonderful day you've had, I'm so mad that I couldn't make it (As I predicted plumber didn't finish yesterday and in fact still hasn't done everything )

The photos are all lovely you & Dillon especially and I enjoyed looking, no way are there too many after all how could you have too many Bernese's

Perhaps next year when we have Rianna with us we'll be able to make it, she would love all those big boys

Like Danes Pat and a lot of Bernese when they get a bit older they don't get hysterical if not walked long distances. The motto with them is they will hike all day with you at their pace not yours. So that's mostly a run a walk a sit and then a lie down. Then we start all over again.
Harvey it would of been lovely if you could of made it. So annoying about the plumber. I am sure it will become a yearly thing it has gone amazingly well all over the world.
So yes next year you will all be able to come and most welcome.

A friend of mine in the village breeds Danes and she said they had all too short life spans, so if she does breed from them, she does it early, then they are spayed and they have the rest of the time to themselves. Such a great shame

Great photos Lynn, you have done such an amazing job with Dillan, he is a credit to you now.

I just can't imagine having such a big dog never mind more than one, They are gorgeous though.

Thank you Nippy Jen. We're getting there.
Couldn't of got through it without my dogsey pals making me see sense and talking me through the nightmare and supporting me.

Aww Lynn, it looks like you had a great day. What a lot of lovely enormous dogs having a grand time. I'm glad you have met someone nearby you who can maybe become a walking partner and a new friend?
Thanks for showing us.
