Groomers aim to get there animals to look as near to the breed standard as possible, even the x breeds we try to make them look like the breed they most resemble.
I'm at a loss here sounds like shes used a surgical blade and just clippered all off, you dont even do that with a cocker. God knows what she was aiming for, but it sounds like she scalped poor henry.

poor henry, make sure you keep him well wrapped up. Its awful we see dogs that have been neglected and come in so full of knots shaving off is the only way, but its ridiculous on a well groomed dog.

Hi

I am new here and am saddened to here of your pup's awful haircut.

I must admit though that I do clip my CKC. I only did it to begin with after I had baby no 2 as he used to grab handful's of Ozzy's hair and not let go!! So for the dog's benefit and for practical reason's out came the clippers! and I have been keeping his coat short ever since, also baby no 3 has just discovered how good his hair is to grab!!

I like the look of him when he is clipped as he look's just like a little puppy again.

I am sorry if I have just offended all you other CKC owners and I apologise but this is just my humble opinion!

Hi and welcome to Dogsey, looking forward to seeing pictures of your doglets

I too used to have my since departed boy clipped, and he was exactly as you say "like a puppy again". People used to think him overweight before and after they used to think he had lost weight but he appeared to like a shorter coat as his whole behaviour changed, like a puppy again.
