We never did our puppy foundation and I wish we had but I was told not to as I was showing her Of course now I know better...

Do what is best for YOU. Your choice of commands are upto you and your trainer's suggestions are just that, suggestions.
Just explain you'd rather use 'stay' - go for it!

I remember doing our puppy foundation, you get a wee certificate and rosette! I'm sure you will be fine, if Maddy can do it any pup can!

We just did our Bronze Good Citizen and I was so nervous I was nearly sick!!

Max did better than I could ever have hoped for and didn't pick up on my nervousness at all!

I only use the "watch me" command to get Max's attention initially... I use "stay" after that.

If you've trained your dogs to "stay" then there's no point using "look" or "watch" as they won't have a clue what you're on about!
